New Year, New Plans
With the new year, we always see an uptick in folks who need help with their estate planning. We are happy to help, of course, but remind everyone that many of their accounts (bank, investment, etc.) have beneficiaries that are named in the contractual documents that established the accounts. Every one of us needs to review these beneficiary designations regularly to make sure that (a) we named beneficiaries and (b) that the people we named are still the people we want to receive our money and other assets when we die.
