Blended Families Need Estate Planning
Remarried? Congratulations! Now, it's time to do some estate planning. Your kids from an earlier relationship may not understand that you want your new spouse to inherit your marital residence, which you owned prior to your new marriage. Be sure that your wishes are stated in an appropriate will or in some other legally binding and recognized form, such as a trust. As we always say, if you don't have an estate plan, the State of Texas has one for you.
